Sometimes in life things need to be shaken up a bit, gone against everything known to be true. What a discovery to find that the real truth is just around the corner.
Feng shui is not absolute. It is not the answer to all of life's problems. A feng shui placement that works for one person may not work for another. The feng shui used today with excellent results may not work at all four months from now. However, it can be a major factor in making astounding things happen when a big change is in order. Breaking a Major Feng Shui Rule One of the primary rules of feng shui says to move one or two items at a time before making any other adjustments in order to tell what works and what doesn't. Feng shui is all about keeping confusion to a minimum, peacefulness at a maximum. But if getting organized is the goal, a tabula rasa is needed. Literally translated, that means an erased tablet: a blank slate. Starting with one room this month, pretend the moving truck has just pulled away. Move in day, take two. Take every single thing out of this room. If the bedroom is the blank slate, take it all out, even the bed. Pile it all in the hallway or in another room. Dump out drawers, unshelve books, unhang clothes, take down pictures. Something new is in the offing. Rut, be gone! Feng Shui One Placement at a TimeNow it's time to get out the vacuum and duster. Wash the windows. Clean the walls from ceiling to floorboards. Get into all the cracks and crevices to make the whole space seem brand-new. If it's feasible, throw on a new coat of paint and shampoo the carpet. Do whatever is needed to make the working space pristine. When that is complete, step back. Behold! Tabula rasa, feng shui style. Before continuing, take a break. Go for a walk. Shake out tired muscles. Breathe. Remember a while ago, feeling like a rebel for casting the rules of feng shui to the wind? Now it's time to follow the rules again. When the time is right, start with each item, one by one. The proverbial moving truck has left you with a pile of boxes. Look at the room with an image of a personal bagua overlying it. Where does personal chi thrive? Be patient. Take it slow. Be open to the possibilities that await. By breaking the feng shui rules, it's possible to make a much more profound change to the living area than by changing things a little at a time. When seeking a new direcation, this approach can give a much needed fresh start.
