Numbers play an important role in Feng Shui and each person has their own Kua number based on their birthdate. Calculate your own kua number.

Calculations for Females

Add the two last digits of your birth year together: 1968=6+8=14

Reduce to single digit by adding them together: 1+4=5

Add 5:5+5=10

Reduce to a single digit: 1+0=1

Personal Kua Number: 1

If personal kua number is 5 you are assigned the personal kua number of 8.

Calculations for Males

Add the two last digits of your birth year together: 1968=6+8=14

Reduce to single digit by adding them together: 1+4=5

Subtract 10:10-5=5

Reduce to a single digit: 5

Personal Kua Number: 5

If personal kua number is 5 you are assigned the personal kua number of 2.

Note: Refer to a Chinese calendar for your birth year if you were born in January or early February.

Lucky Colors Based on Your Kua Number

1 Blue/ Black

2 Yellow/ Beige

3 Green/ Brown

4 Green/ Brown

6 White/ Silver/ Gold

8 Yellow/ Beige

9 Red

Incorporate your lucky colors into your personal space. If your lucky color is yellow wear a splash of it on important dates to bring you extra luck. Have fun bringing your lucky colors into your life.

Feng Shui House Numbers

Chinese numerology is based on homophone principles. Homophone means having the same sound but different meanings. Therefore, according to the principles of Feng Shui, words with similar sounds make a number lucky or unlucky.

Unlucky Numbers

Number 4 and number 13 are unlucky according to the principles of Chinese numerology. The number 13 adds up to four. Four sounds like death in Cantonese. Do not worry much about the number 4 if the pronunciation of the number in your language does not sound similar to death.

E.g. Four pours in the money. It is all about your perception

Lucky Number

Number eight is a lucky number because it sounds like prosperous in Cantonese.

Choose your numbers based on your primary language in the home. There are a variety of words for each number that can make it lucky or unlucky.

A good house number combines both odd and even numbers. Odd numbers are yang and even numbers are yin.

Yang Numbers: Odd Numbers: 1, 3, 5, 7...

Yin Numbers: Even Numbers: 2, 4, 6, 8...

Yang numbers are more advantageous than yin numbers because they represent growth and prosperity.

If your house number is considered unlucky, there is a simple cure to remedy it. Place a circle around the house number or buy a circular house plate for the number. This cure will contain the number and it will cease to create bad luck.

You are best to choose a home with good Feng Shui and cure the house number than choose a home for the house number with bad Feng Shui.
