Each of the 5 home Feng Shui elements associates with a separate direction, and has specific qualities, such as colors and forms, that can improve home design.

While the elements themselves symbolize the process of change, the interaction between them symbolizes completeness, and helps to bring harmony and comfort into the home Feng Shui.

Using Feng Shui Water Element in Home Design

Water in Feng Shui is associated with wealth and emotional sensitivity. This element should be used for the renewal and recovery of positive energy. However, its excess may lead to slackness and despondency. So, use Feng Shui water carefully. Thsi element is better to be located in places where the family rests and relaxes, or in the working areas for attracting wealth and prosperity.

  • Colors: black and dark blue.
  • Forms: wavy and smoothly curved.
  • Symbols: mirrors, glass, fountains, pictures of fish, waterfalls and sea landscapes.
  • Direction: south.

This Feng Shui element is related to action, motivation, passion and intelligence. It energizes and activates. The best places for Feng Shui fire are those where communication between people is to take place. It is also good for the working areas - to stimulate activity, learning and intellectual development. The excess of fire may lead to irascibility and irritability.

  • Forms: triangular and peaked.

Feng Shui wood stimulates creative abilities, growth and development. Stimulation of home areas related to wood increases creative abilities of the family members. The best places for Feng Shui wood are those where people study and work. The excess of this element may lead to idealism and unreasonable expectations.

  • Colors: all the shades of green.
  • Forms: high, long and rectangular.
  • Symbols: wooden things and furniture, plants, pictures of trees and plants.

  • Colors: yellow and brown.
  • Forms: square.
  • Symbols: ceramics, stones, crystals, pictures of landscapes.
  • Direction: south-west, north-east.

For the best results, all the 5 Feng Shui elements should be represented in each of the house's premises. Each element should have a representation in the corresponding area and direction in order for them all together to interact influencing the family in the most positive manner.
