Use Feng Shui as Your Guide

Obesity is a major health concern in North America. Feng Shui has some simple ideas that can enhance any weight loss program.

Feng Shui Weight Loss Tips

• Eat your dinner on a black or dark blue plate. The color of the plate subconsciously diminishes your appetite. Dinner meals on dark plates and lunch and breakfast meals on bright colors.

• Place a dark tablecloth on the table in the evening. Put it on the table after lunch to curb your appetite the rest of the day. Restaurants use red tablecloths to stimulate your appetite. (Good trick they have been using for years.)

Make eating a sacred ritual. Decorate the table with fresh flowers and use the best china for all your meals.

Say a prayer of thanks for all the great food that is available to you.

• Do your exercises in bright colors in place of the traditional grey/black jogging suits. The warm colors of the rainbows stimulate activity while the dark colors tire the body.

• Enhance the Future life area (South). Place a picture of your face glued to a body type you desire. Place the date of your achievement. Be realistic and safe. (1-2 lbs of weight loss a week is ideal for keeping off the weight and maintaining it.)

• Food selection should be varied. Bright colors should dominate the plate and neutral colors should be less than 1/3. There is little chi value in a plate of pasta compared to a bowl of veggies.

Place a mirror on the fridge to deter you from entering after certain hours. Do not eat 4 hours before you go to bed.

• Throw away all food that has little chi value. Pick up the food and decide if it has positive or negative chi. Food that clogs and blocks the chi in the body makes it difficult to do physical activity.

• Clear the home of clutter. Throw away things that are reminders of you gaining weight. The dress from the 80's that you will wear once you lose 20lbs. Eliminate items that make you feel tired and unmotivated.

• Make sure the center of the home is clear of clutter.

Clean the kitchen of all clutter. The cupboards should not be bulging open with food and kitchen accessories. Have a bowl of fresh fruit on the counter or table to represent vitality and healthy choices.

• Image yourself doing your favorite physical activity and participate in your daydream. Now, make it a part of your daily routine. Rebounding is a great exercise for weight loss and to get the chi moving and unblocked.

• Overall Home: What does the home say? Is the home filled with yin energy? Very relaxing and quiet. Infuse some yang energy to keep you moving. Play Latin dance music to get your feet moving or spray the home with citrus scents. Add a few drops of lemon essential oil in a diffuser with spring water.

Weight loss programs drain you mentally, physically and emotionally. Use the Feng Shui principles to aid in your weight battle. Make it victorious with a little help from the unseen world of chi.
